Puerto Pollensa is one of the best destinations in north Mallorca for eating out with a reputation for both quality, value and a remarkable choice of cuisine. Diners are catered for with a wide range of restaurants from simple traditional family fare to superb menus featuring the very best in gastronomy. Mallorcan cuisine is both imaginative and traditional using its local produce especially port and olives and here in the north goat. The locally produced wines such as Mortitx and Can Vidalet are in many of the local eateries.

Los Zarzales Mallorcan Restaurant is perfect if you’re looking for a typical taste of Mallorca, serving excellent wine from local vineyards including Mortitx, whose quality wines have a growing reputation within the UK. On Thursday evenings during peak season there is flamenco dancing in the courtyard and the service from Yolanda and her staff is always as good as the food.

If Italian tickles your taste buds why not try Osteria N15, a beautiful restaurant in the main square with exceptional service and fantastic food cooked by Italian chefs? Osteria N15 opened in 2013 with the sole intention of combining authentic Italian flavours with great service in a great location. The chefs Roberto and Stefano partnered by Dana have certainly delivered this. The sea bream in a lobster bisque is wonderful!

Just off the square is the restaurant Centric which is renowned for its quality food and is very popular with the English.

Around the harbour there are at least three quality dining establishments including the Real Club Nautic set in modern surroundings with its most popular dishes being lobster stew and paella.

On the edge of town situated on a small hill overlooking the Bay of Pollença, the Llenaire is a small luxury hotel on the edge of the Tramuntana mountain range, set in these tranquil surroundings the whole experience of wonderful food and great service leaves great memories.

To the north of the main square, there are many small cafes and bars where the locals take breakfast and socialise in the evenings. Additionally, tapas bars are common with one of the best being La Bodeguita which is part of the Tapas Route on Thursday evenings but very busy. In the evenings the Cafe d’eu Moll is good for Spanish football and has recently started to have live music on Friday evenings served with good snacks.

If it is watching sport then there are two Irish bars located just off the main square O’ Haras and Mulligans both showing Sky Sports and BT Sports inside and out. Australian Boulevard, a bar run as part of O’Haras, also shows Sky Sports thereby offering a choice of venues and fixtures. These two bars also have live music on selected evenings and are open until late in the evening during the busy season. O’Haras also has special event nights and can be very busy with cyclists.

There is an excellent new bar called Tecun, with a great atmosphere, amazing service, live music and a DJ. The name of this highly recommended bar is Columbian, no surprise here as it is owned and run by Bibi who managed O’ Haras for many years. It is located in what used to be the Manduca opposite the Mar Calma Hotel and is open in the evenings after 6pm.
