Puerto Pollensa, once a fishing village prior to the tourism boom, is ideally located for all sorts of water sport given the weather and fantastic scenery.
Scuba diving is very popular in the area and there are numerous shops in the town offering a wide range of experiences catering from the beginner to the professional. Beginners are offered the chance to learn in a pool and for the experienced scuba diver, the beautiful crystal clear waters around the bay are not to be missed.
Another very popular water sport in the harbour is kiteboarding. If you travel along the coastal road from Puerto Pollensa to Alcudia on a windy and sunny day you will see plenty of people enjoying this sport from set locations. There is a kite and surf school halfway between Puerto Pollensa and Alcudia which has a large range of equipment and is located directly opposite the beach where most of these sports are carried out.
At the harbour itself, as well as jet skis, there are yachts and catamarans, all of which can be hired. Another popular pastime, which is well used by locals, is kayaking and this sport offers a wide variety of trips on different days of the week. There is just so much choice, with family excursions around the stunning bays combined with kayak fun and a zip line. After all of this activity you can enjoy the sun and a refreshing drink on the harbour in La Llonja.
