The beautiful town of Puerto Pollensa has a huge selection of places to stay to suit all needs. There are wonderful hotels with fantastic sea views, apartments and villas to rent and a few lovely small hostels.
The town’s sea front stretches for a considerable distance alongside many beaches so it is important when selecting your accommodation to make sure you know it’s location as you may be some distance from the centre of town.Should you choose to stay away from the centre there is a regular bus service to both Pollensa and Alcudia. Local taxi’s are both plentiful and reasonably priced and the taxi rank can be found on the sea front at the roundabout.
Both hotels and restaurants have significantly improved in the last few years with many having been refurbished and new ones added to the area. There is still the impressive four-star superior Hotel Illa d’Or, owned by the family group Hoposa Hotels, which is popular with celebrities and has been attracting ‘big names’ since 1929.
It has its own restaurant totally refreshed a year ago and also a vintage yacht which guests can book for sailing trips.
It’s sister hotels, the four-star Hotel Uyal and the Hotel Daina, are set in equally imposing ‘beach-side’ locations. The four-star apartment complex of Villa Concha is perfect for families and is located in a peaceful residential area of the town.
The refurbished La Goleta Hotel de Mar, located a few minutes’ walk from the bird information centre at La Gola is one we would recommend to both birdwatchers and hikers alike.
Those visitors who come for water sports or cycling should consider the Hotel Duva on the outskirts of town which has great facilities and several swimming pools.
If lazing on the beach is your choice of holiday then the Hotel Miramar, with its excellent restaurant, is ideally located on the sea front promenade surrounded by many other restaurants including the Himalaya India restaurant which is very highly rated.
There is a huge choice of villas to rent around the area with prices set according to size and standard and a large selection of these can be viewed at Dickinson Villas.
Puerto Pollensa is now more popular than ever before with many visitors returning year after year. The port’s many restaurants and bars cater for all tastes and pockets with fine dining, traditional restaurants, international cuisine, live entertainment, friendly bars showing Sky Sports, cafes, tapas bars and late night eateries.
