Situated in the north east corner of Mallorca on the edge of the Tramuntana mountain range, roughly 60 kilometres from Palma, lies the historic and pretty town of Pollença. This is an ideal venue to stroll through whilst enjoying the picturesque streets, history, culture and the charming restaurants and cafes which surround many of the small squares in the town.
Pollença lies 6 kilometres to the west of the popular tourist destination of Port de Pollença and gained its name from the early Roman settlement built close to Alcudia which was known as Pollentia. Much of the town dates back to medieval times although the majority of the houses were built in the 17th and 18th Centuries. Despite or perhaps because of its diverse cultural heritage, Pollença has never lost its identity and continues to beguile and enchant visitors year upon year.
